This second installment kept me guessing until the end! Maggie and Jack are an amazing pair and I look forward to many more books!

Maggie Gardiner is a forensic expert who studies the dead and Jack Renner is a homicide cop who stalks the living. They have come together in this book to solve a series of murders which are taking place at the Cleveland Herald. We get lots of information on the inside workings of the newspaper publishing world and how they relate in this digital world. It's best to read Book 1 of the series in order to get the background on Maggie and Jack as each has their own secrets from the past which plays a big part in their present relationship. I enjoyed all the forensic detail in this book and the information kept me guessing about who the murderer was until the last page. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and would recommend this book to those who like mystery with lots of forensic detail.
I won't be getting any more books by Black, I didn't find this one interesting at all, there is just too much technical talk about newspapers and how they work, now, some people find that interesting but I want a better mystery/suspense/thriller in my story and this series doesn't have that, and the plot of Jack being a 'killer' and getting away with it and Maggie knows but doesn't tell, doesn't make her guilty too? oh well I really don't care
